A Note from Justine:

"I started Sierra Soapourri in 1997 with the dream of bringing truly natural soap into the spotlight of everyday life. I got off track with this dream in 2001 when I allowed myself to be buried under negative influences, one of which was the public's demand for unnaturally sourced fragrances, i.e. strawberry, banana, kiwi, peach and the like, the other was listening to the so-called experts of the time saying this or that couldn't be done. All that changed when I met an extraordinary group of women on the web who were doing things in soap making and natural skincare that I never imagined could be done ~  within months, the creative spark that I thought had burned out was rekindled and I have been on this wild journey of discovery ever since. So, the dream has been partially realized ~ I met a fiesty young woman named Monica Rodriguez a few years back and she became one of my most loyal customers ~ then she became my business partner. After a year of being pushed and prodded by her, I finally broke down and said 'yes', and the store was born in that moment. Is it providence? Fate? Who knows ~ I've been in shock since the lease was signed! But I do know one thing, in the short time we've been open, we've touched more lives and educated more people on the uses of natural over synthetic than could ever have been possible before, and the return customers and smiles of our clients prove to us we're doing what we're destined to do."
